Is “Songography” a word? If it isn’t, it is now. This is a close-to-complete listing of the songs Janette Davis sang on the daily CBS Arthur Godfrey Time morning shows, in date order, from her first five years on the show. The list includes repeat performances, as well as those with occasional duet partners (most frequently Godfrey and the Mariners quartet). As you’ll see, she sang a mélange of current pop songs, older standards, obscurities, novelty ditties, holiday songs, soft ballads and slam-bang rhythmic arrangements (and everything in between).
All songs are accompanied by Godfrey’s house band, lead by Archie Bleyer. Such was the musicianship and trust between Janette and Archie’s band that they could often whale into an unplanned and/or unrehearsed arrangement with complete confidence, sounding as good as any previously rehearsed number.

A few featured Janette at the piano, or even whistling. This is a very incomplete alphabetical list.
